Rome AGBSNe Prize
The Vatican Observatory is the sponsor of two "Rome AGBSNe" prizes, which will be awarded during the meeting to those young scientists who shall give the most interesting contribution in the fields of research of the Conference, chosen on the basis of their CV, the impact of their scientific publications and the interest of the topic addressed in the Abstract.
Here are the requisites for eligibility: a) Participation to the competition for the "junior AGBSNe Prize" is open to Master and PHD students and to astronomers, who obtained a PHD not earlier than 2016. b) The "senior AGBSNe Prize" is reserved to astronomers who currently hold a post-doctorate position, and obtained a PHD not earlier than 2011. The winners will be given a Prize of 500 euro, a slot for the talk, and will be refunded of their travel costs, upon presentation of the documentation of expenses. The participation of all young people attending the Conference and meeting the criteria (a) or (b) given above, is welcome. Interested candidates are kindly requested to apply by sending their CV and the abstract of the topic they want to illustrate in the meeting to [email protected], not later than January 16th, 2017. For the "junior" Prize , a summary of the PHD or Master thesis is also required. Please write "Rome AGBSNe Prize" in the object field of the email. The winners will be chosen by a commission headed by Father David Brown (Vatican Observatory) and including members of the SOC. |
